Day One
“Prologue“
Ganesh Chaturdhi
Began with Maha Aarti
Different families with aarti thalis
Gathered to offer fulfilling prayers.
Prisha — Maha Aarthi should be with “STEPS”
Kiran — The theme of Chandrayaan … never stops;
Mrs. Mayur — “I designed my husband’s name like a peacock”
Eventually, it stood the winner; rock, rock, rock.
“Other Activities“
The yearly quiz was all around the screens
Tinu did the screening n pruning: three cheers;
Not announcing the scores till the end
Made the teams to try and not pretend.
The organisers chained the participants hands-free
Out of coverage area, no Google or Siri,
Human mind did something outdated and strange
Within and without the 5G and Wi-Fi range!

Day Two
“Ashirwad” — calling the families on to the stage
Showcasing the culture craft to our advantage
A novel idea … will Vamsians shower praise or shun?
Jor ka success dheere se — by Mr and Mrs Roshan.
Erupting emotions, joyous commotions
Unintented recollections, intended felicitations
Much imputed to our parents for what we are
For they beget, build and eternally bless with pyaar.
A son felt to be a king in his Dad’s kingdom
Another said that parents are his stardom
A son in son-in-law, a father in father-in-law
A daugher in daughter-in-law, a mother in mother-in-law.
As planned, the theme was South Indian
Delicious n delectable, food was South Indian
Gorgeous and handsome, Dress code was South Indian
Following the code, each one remained a true Vamsian!

Day Three
“Dandiya“
With Maa Shakti in the center, the music played dhol baaje dhol
As participants danced around her, the music played dhol baaje dhol
For Garba and Dandiya Raas steps, the music played dhol baaje dhol
With clappings and Dandiya sticks booming, the music played dhol baaje dhol.
With flood lights and no fans, the evening though sultry
The ambience created attracted all and sundry
Men and women, young and old danced to the tunes
Dancing their way in opposing circles, enjoying the twists and turns.
The dress code was neither simple nor magical
Carrying it and careering it with control was equally logical;
The little space in the courtyard was spacious for dandiya
As all eyes gathered to make lively this mini-India. 😊
Day Four
“Games“
Making the kids follow the instruction is a hurdle
It’s like getting the meaning of “stand straight in a circle”;
It’s only mothers who have their own jugaad
Without spoiling the child, they can spare the rod!
(Here, the original idiom “spare the rod and spoil the child” means ‘if the parents do not punish children when they do something wrong, children will not learn the correct things’.)
Game is the time when the child in everyone comes out
Be it young or old, tall or short, thin or stout;
Organizers had many ideas up their sleeve
Take it or leave it, nothing to make believe.
Can people run around crazily without any panic?
Yes. Here, the games are like the HR’s super tonic!
Run, think, guess, catch, approach and do whatever extra
Participate, whether it’s a win or loss, is the mantra!
The king of the games was “Make the pair, take the chair”
It’s the business of getting the partner in a battle-fair
Fun, frolic, music, magic, … just ask for that impulse
You would see it, if not in Vamsy, where else?
Day Five
“Ramp Walk“
All the activities here have been fun-filled
Anybody could participate if they willed;
A stage where arrangements could be made to a stage
All jigrees join hands and amicably manage.
Organisers made the ramp walk with a difference
Leaving a lot of choice to the Father and Child’s preference;
A ramp walk is a ramp walk and no catwalk,
Act, dance, sing and exhibit the talent along with the walk.
Whatever you perform, you receive a pat
Everyone enjoys whether it’s thin or fat
Every performance is inimitable and bold
If you have missed it, elsewhere, your time was sold.

Day Six
“The Best Ganeshji“
Every flat to make the Best Home-made Ganeshji possible
How is it possible? … Tangible or intangible?
If tangible, then the yardstick could be still in the making
If intangible, anything could be used for Gananātha, the King.
Well, a tangible treat to the eyes … efforts by all are unfathomable
For creativity has no bounds … just laudable!
The idols are made of neither PoP nor clay
Yet, in all our minds, they are here to stay!
Utti or Uttu is a definite part of the festivities
Josh is the hosh … ecstasy at the peak of all activities;
Holding the baton, battling the gushing water
Focusing, jumping and hitting it is a youthful matter.
Drumming, singing, dancing, all happened simultaneously
No surprises, again, young and old did them continuously
Taking turns one after the other, seeming to be a saga,
It reached the Nimajjan stage, saying “… Agle baras tu jaldi aa.“

Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa.
Other Hallmarks
“Sports“
All sports conducted by the young colts
Chasing the participants for their slots
Is like a mother who runs after a child with food bowl;
They all desrve a big applause with no scowl.
“Food Committee“
The food committee in Vamsy is an asset with no investment
Their continuous presence at the kitchen is proof of their commitment
This year, the assurance of zero food wastage
Is an exemplary example of the best mileage!
“Epilogue“
This is a big joyous event in our mohalla
No doubt, all enjoyed the kheer in everyday’s pyalaa
We worship Rama, Siva, Hanuman, Durga and Nandlaala
Now, let’s bow to Lord Ganesha, for it’s all his ‘leela’.
