32. Sachin Ten x 10

Such was the way he would adjust his helmet
And the runner would rush as if he asked to meet,
Change in the gestures with all twists and turns
Have nothing to reveal about his shots and plans,
If his bat, as runner, was in right hand, the ball pitches on the off side
No faults, no fouls, if in the other, it pitches on the leg side.

Tentative countenance with undaunted play
Explained in reply through his strike with no delay
Not easy to read his mind, a master blaster
Dreamt to be and dared to do smart and smarter
Ultimate aim is to play and win for the country …
Lion at the wicket dominating with bat and ball on the pitch
King of cricket masterly maneuvering the match
Accomplished the best creating new records —
Rarest of the rare to score a hundred hundreds!

Note: Now, please read the first letter of every line in a sequence. 🫠

I publish this poem on the occasion of completing 30 years in Teaching and Education. I thank God!

Childhood, youth and middle age are keen stages of learning. I believe, the unlearning is a way to learn as we move forward from here, just as a satellite would detach itself from a few components to reach its destination. In this process, we might leave a few footsteps! Hence the effort to store a few ideas in English, Telugu and Hindi.
